In technology, the year 2010 started with a bang, as Apple introduced its "iPod touch on steroids" -- the iPad. Twelve months later, Google grabbed our attention with Chrome OS and its promise to make the computing experience faster, seamless and personal. Yet neither tech giant could deliver quite the goods to webify our TVs and livingrooms. In the intervening months, Microsoft tried a smartphone comeback with Windows Phone 7 while moving forward with Silverlight and getting the rest of us moving with Xbox Kinect. Android was, well, everywhere; while the Sun finally set inside the Oracle empire.
